    Updated on 07/07/2022

As the world reopens, travel is getting a little easier. The secret to a seamless trip is extra planning. Be sure to check your country's regulations. Here's the status of our destinations:

    Mauritius

Great news! Mauritius is fully open! We compiled the most frequently asked questions below. We also invite you to consult the official Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority website for the latest updates and more detailed information: https://mauritiusnow.com

    La Reunion

Social distancing is recommended but is no longer mandatory. Masks are not required indoors and outdoors, including in transportation (even if it is still recommended). To visit Reunion Island, it is compulsory for unvaccinated people to present a Covid-19 test (PCR test less than 72 hours or Antigen test less than 48 hours). Vaccinated travellers do not need to present any test upon departure. Since 14 May, ‘reasonable excuses’ are not required for unvaccinated travellers (however a negative Covid test is still compulsory).

    China

Over in China, the doors to our resorts and retreats are open to domestic travellers only, as borders remain closed for now. A health QR code is required upon check-in. Local travellers from high and middle-risk areas should check in with their regional's regulations.

    Maldives

The Maldives' one island=one resort has made it an alluring destination since day 1.

You are no longer required to present a PCR negative test result upon arrival to the Maldives. This applies to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers. Wearing a face mask is no longer mandatory, except at health facilities.

You must fill out an online Traveller Health Declaration (https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/) within 48h of your departure to and from the Maldives.

If you are coming from another resort, island or boat, you are no longer required to do a PCR test prior to your arrival at LUX* South Ari Atoll.

As part of the Collective Care Program, all Team Members maintain protective measures, and public facilities are sanitized frequently to keep you, our Team Members, and our communities safe.

COVID-19 insurance: The Maldives offers a COVID-19 insurance which travellers can purchase prior to their arrival. It covers medical expenses, isolation and transportation costs.

A HOTEL IN MALDIVES LIKE NO OTHER

A luxury resort in Maldives that helps people celebrate life with a different kind of luxury – hospitality that is Lighter, Brighter

A must-visit, the Maldives owes its exceptional natural beauty to its ratified topography: 99 percent water, with the remainder being a garland of 1,200 sugar-white sand islets forming ring-shaped atolls—the tippy-top of submerged, now extinct volcanoes. The gloriously sunny destination draws travellers seeking to live their ultimate tropical fantasy: days are spent lazing on the postcard-perfect beaches of these remote islands, swimming in the bluest, warmest water, but above all, basking in the luxury offered by hotels in the Maldives.

The Maldives has a pleasant equatorial climate with two seasons: a dry season from November to April, with May to October, witnessing momentary rain showers followed by sunshine. Temperatures range from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius. The capital is Malé, a 10 sq. km island. Travellers land on Hulhule Island, a few kilometres from the capital, before boarding seaplanes or speedboat transfers to their respective private-island resorts.

Travellers step onto the sandy shores, leaving all worries behind, and find themselves being drawn into a seemingly parallel universe of overwater villas and hues of blue, where nothing is too much trouble. Days are punctuated with niche experiences such as swimming alongside whale sharks and jet skiing to a desert sandbank for a picnic or wedding. Without an ounce of doubt, Maldives hotels raise luxury travel to another level, one that has remained unsurpassed.

LUX* South Ari Atoll

Our beautiful Maldives luxury resort is located on South Ari Atoll, in a Marine Protected Area, a mere 25-minute seaplane ride from the airport of Male, where we offer you a unique island getaway experience of a lifetime.

Numerous restaurants and bars serve exquisite food and beverages, making for an unmatched all-inclusive offer. And if you want to be tête-à-tête on a sandbank or have breakfast served on a floating tray in the privacy of your pool, just ask.

More than just enjoying a luxurious stay in the Maldives, we want our guests to experience the Maldivian dream to the fullest. Head up to your beautiful Water Villas, perched over the Maldivian lagoon, or get cosy in your authentic and charming Beach Pavilion, waking up to the sound of ocean waves, surrounded by breath-taking views.

Each of our rooms, suites, and villas has plenty of delightful features: stylish, comfortable bedrooms; spacious bathrooms filled with daylight; beautiful sun decks calling for a lazy stretch… Enjoy your private tropical garden, facing the white sandy beach, or the intimacy of your private pool overlooking the lagoon.

With 50 dive sites nearby, you can snorkel and dive to your heart’s content among the rainbow fish and whale sharks. Getting around the island is easy and fun: bicycle through the tropical greens or take a shuttle that runs on eco-friendly energy. We’re big on sustainability, too. You can even adopt a coral and participate in the preservation of this beautiful ecosystem. It’s no wonder that LUX* South Ari Atoll is a favourite Maldives resort for many.

Seeking romance? Our secluded island is just an ideal place for a couple getaway. And our signature Romantic and Temptation overwater villas have been specially designed for an intimate holiday. Floating breakfast in the pool? Midnight swim under the stars? Private dinner on the beach? A dream, isn’t it?

You are also in the right place if you’re thinking of renewing your vows or getting married. Have yourself a relaxing romantic break while our dream team is taking care of every little single detail of your ceremony.

You'll love...

Our countless activities

You will never get bored at LUX* South Ari Atoll, with an array of activities available on the island and our signature Extraordinary Experiences that will spark your wanderlust and create memories to last a lifetime. Each of them is tailored to satisfy the travel and exploration cravings of our guests.

Honeymooners and lovers can enjoy a castaway beach picnic with delicious local treats or sail away at sunset on a catamaran. Wellness addicts can enjoy ample-me-time at LUX* Me Spa or join a morning yoga session on the beach. Families and kids will love all the water sports: paddle boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, fly-boarding, line fishing on a traditional boat, etc.

Moreover, if you are more of the sun-bed type, there are plenty of incredible spots waiting for you, where you can simply enjoy your leisure time and alternate between the swimming pool and diving in the sea. The possibilities are outstanding, and so are your holidays.

Our eight restaurants and five bars

Yes, that is right. Eight. In other words, you can sample a different cuisine every night for eight nights. Japanese, Mediterranean, Italian, Middle-Eastern, Southeast Asian... And if you’ve opted for our All-Inclusive offer, you can eat at 6 of the 8!

You will surely enjoy a cocktail at Beach Rouge in a trendy island living atmosphere, near a crystal-clear swimming pool overlooking the lagoon. A delight for the soul. Plant-based food lovers, we’ve got you covered, too. Our talented and dedicated chefs take you to a ‘green’ culinary tour around the world in beautiful settings.

No wonder you tell us this is one of your favourite laid-back luxury hotels in the Maldives, suitable for the whole family’s special cravings.
