INTI

Peruvian cuisine is best described as a culinary mash-up. A dialogue between cultures. A celebration of community, of the ways in which food and eating brings people together.

Gastronomic Peruvian Cuisine

From the snow-capped Andes mountain range to arid deserts, from the Amazonian rainforest to its seashores, Peru has 30 microclimates, 4,000 varieties of potatoes, and 2,000 species of fish. You may be wondering, “A Peruvian restaurant in Mauritius?” But it makes sense when you think of all those ceviches that call for the freshest fish–plenty of that here. The cuisine at INTI, a cross-pollination between Peruvian and Argentinian cuisines, has evolved over the centuries to form a unique modern-day culinary art form that is beautiful to both the eyes and the taste buds.

The Chef

Chef Pedro Burgos

Cooking is my passion. It is something I have always done. First, as a child helping my mother in the kitchen, and now to being a chef at the helm of the island’s first Peruvian restaurant. Using my culinary skills and creativity to spread my homeland’s culture gives me a sense of purpose. My secret? Whatever you do… Cook, dance, sing… Do it with a smile!
