During the LUX* Underwater Festival, join us for both a diving and conservation workshop taught by diving legend and the founder of Project AWARE, Dr. Drew Richardson.
Take a journey through the history of scuba diving and the conservation challenges faced by the world today. In the Project AWARE workshop, you will learn about the fundamental mechanisms in our marine environment and how we can all pitch in to save the magnificent creatures of the sea and specifically the whale sharks found in the Maldives.
Considered one of the foremost diving specialists of his generation, American, Dr. Drew Richardson is the founder of PROJECT AWARE and the CEO of PADI Dive Worldwide.
A life-long diver and passionate lover of marine conservation, Dr. Drew Richardson was inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame in 2008. Utilizing his credentials in marine science, business and education, Richardson has significantly advanced the PADI Dive system and lends his constant conservations vision to PROJECT AWARE, a global conservations movement to protect the oceans. Recent campaigns include, responsible shark and ray tourism, defending against the global shark trade and dive against debris.
